2 weeks away until our trip to New Zealand!
Here's the deal, my Mom & I are going to NZ (South Island) for Spring Break 2016. This is the first time my Mom will be going outside of the country. Well she's been to Canada & Mexico, but that doesn't count. :)
Total trip 12 days, 10 in NZ (takes 2 days to get there) - well with the time difference it is 2 days, but in reality it's only about 15 hours. They are ahead of us by 21 hours, so we are skipping a day.
Itinerary:
SF --> Auckland --> Christchurch
Meet up with some friends (Charlie & Dina) and stay with them for a couple days.
Take the TranzAlpine Train to Greymouth: Kiwirail
P/U a car and drive South to Franz Josef (2 nights)
Then down to Wanaka for a night
Over to Te Anau for a couple nights - glow worm caves & Doubtful Sound tour
Back to Queenstown for our last 2 nights (Mom wants to do a jet boat & we want to check out the Skyline Restaurant, Gondola & Luge: Skyline Queenstown
Fly out of QT --> Auckland --> SF
