Franz Josef to Wanaka

This morning we checked out of our hotel and drove to Fox Glacier and had breakfast at Lake Matheson Cafe. 

They had a really cute shop with lots of New Zealand made items there. Got some great gifts and of course items for ourselves. 

Mom was very matchy with her turquoise & purple. 

Next we had to get down to Haast. It takes about 2 hrs to get to Haast from Franz Josef. Give or take with stopping. Here's some of our stops along State Highway 6. See below.

Haast Pass was amazingly beautiful! Great roadways to gorgeous views. The sun was shining on green landscapes, with the mountains in the background & big puffy whit clouds.  Here's some of what we saw on our journey down. 

Lots of one way bridges. 

One lane bridge to the start of waterfalls & turquoise waters. 

Blue Pools Hike (30 min- 1 hr. )

This was taken over a suspension bridge. I tackled my fear. 

Water was so clear & turquoise. Amazing!

We saw 3 different people jump off one of the bridges into the icy cold glacier water below. Crazy people!

After this, we made it to Wanaka. I took a lot of great pics off my camera of Lake  Wanaka. You'll have to wait and see. 

Checked in to our room. Great views of the lake. 

Had dinner @ The Water Cafe & now back @ our room. Tomorrow we're going to check out the town & then we're heading to Te Anau.
